Description

The Aluminium Door Threshold Strip offers broad coverage across flooring joins where different surfaces meet. At 80 mm wide, it creates a smooth connection while helping accommodate minor differences in floor height.

It is suitable for fitted carpet, parquet flooring and terracotta tiles. Therefore, the profile works well across doorways and other interior transition points where a wider trim is required.

Anodised aluminium gives the profile resistance to corrosion and everyday wear. In addition the wide surface helps protect the flooring connection while creating a more defined finish between adjoining areas.

The threshold is available in Silver, Gold and Champagne. It can also be shortened with a hacksaw where the full 930 mm length is not required.

This profile suits homes, offices and commercial interiors. Furthermore, it can be used during a new flooring project or when replacing an older trim.

Where an interior project includes both floors and steps, this threshold handles the floor connection while stair nosings are used to finish exposed stair edges. An anti slip stair nosing serves a different purpose where additional grip is needed on the staircase.

Overall, the 80 mm profile combines generous floor coverage with concealed fixing and a simple anodised finish.

Why Choose Stair Nosing Hut?

A wider threshold can be useful when a floor connection needs more coverage without leaving visible fixings across the surface. Stair Nosing Hut provides clear sizing, fitting and finish details to help you select the right profile for the job. For product enquiries, call 07404270642 or email sales@stairnosinghut.co.uk.

Material & Finish

The broad 80 mm aluminium surface is anodised to provide resistance against corrosion and everyday wear. Once installed, the concealed fixing track remains underneath the trim, leaving the visible face free from exposed mounting points.

Colour choices include Silver, Gold and Champagne. Each option keeps the profile simple and refined while providing a choice of finishes for different flooring surroundings.

Installation

Prepare the Profile

Measure the flooring transition first. If necessary, cut the aluminium strip to the required length using a hacksaw.

Mark the Floor

Position the threshold over the required area. Mark the points where the floor needs to be drilled.

Prepare the Fixing System

  1. Drill the required holes.
  2. Slide the fixing dowels into the track underneath the threshold.
  3. Position each dowel so it lines up with the drilled holes.

Secure the Threshold

  1. Place the profile over the flooring connection.
  2. Align the dowels with the prepared holes.
  3. Press the threshold firmly down.
  4. Make sure the plugs enter the holes fully.
  5. Check that the trim sits securely and flush across the transition.

Before Fitting

Make sure the installation surface is clean and dry before positioning the threshold.
