Aluminium Threshold Bars for Doorways and Floor Joins
Create a neat transition between adjoining floors with aluminium door threshold strips from Stair Nosing Hut. Also known as door bars or threshold bars, these profiles cover expansion gaps and provide a durable low profile finish at doorways.
Anodised aluminium provides a hard wearing option for high traffic areas. Therefore, these strips suit doorways, hallways, kitchens and shop entrances. The range includes narrow T bars as well as wide 100mm threshold strips.

Finishes and Fitting Choices
Each aluminium threshold strip has an anodised corrosion resistant finish. Colours include silver, gold, champagne and black. Wood effect options are also available.
Choose screw fix for a secure fitting in high traffic areas. Alternatively, self adhesive profiles require no drilling and suit tiles and underfloor heating. Push in or clip options provide hidden fixing for a clean appearance.
Choosing the Correct Threshold
A flat door threshold strip works where floors are at the same height such as laminate to tile. However, a ramp threshold suits floors at different levels. For a discreet join, choose a 13 to 26mm T bar. Meanwhile, an 80mm to 100mm threshold strip provides greater coverage for wider gaps.
Fitting Aluminium Door Bars
First, measure the doorway and cut the profile using a hacksaw or mitre saw. Then smooth the cut edge. For screw fix profiles, mark and drill the fixing holes before securing the bar.
For a self adhesive door bar, clean and dry the flooring. Remove the backing and press the strip firmly into position. Ramp profiles should slope from the higher floor towards the lower floor.
